Orchard's End
This wonderful English Manor House, remodeled by Wadia Associates in 1975, was originally designed by William B. Tubby (1858-1944), who also designed Greenwich’s Dunnellen Hall which was once owned by Harry and Leona Helmsley as well as New York City’s five Carnegie Libraries and Waveny House in New Canaan.
Wadia Associates was called upon once again to add a billiard room/library, a playroom, a tower lookout, and to reconfigure the commercial kitchen and pantry into a residential kitchen with quarter-sawn oak and mahogany cabinets with stonewalls, floors, counter tops and a stained coffered ceiling. The exterior proportions and details using brick, limestone and leaded glass windows, seamlessly emulate the exterior of the home, which was built in 1929.
